I just came across these - I know every state has odd stuff like this, but some of these really make me wonder what problem they were trying to solve...

1) In Harper Woods (MI), it is illegal to paint sparrows to sell them as parakeets.
2) In Michigan, married couples must live together or be imprisoned.
3) In Michigan, it is against the law for a lady to lift her skirt more than 6 inches while walking through a mud puddle.
4) In Michigan, it is illegal to chain an alligator to a fire hydrant.

5) In Michigan, a woman isn't allowed to cut her own hair without her husband's permission.
6) It's illegal in Michigan for a person under the age of 21 to give a gift of alcohol beverage to anyone, even to a person of legal age.
7) 750.532 Seduction; punishment.
Sec. 532. - Any man who shall seduce and debauch any unmarried woman shall be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in the state prison not more than 5 years or by fine of not more than 2,500 dollars; but no prosecution shall be commenced under this section after 1 year from the time of committing the offense. 8) It is legal for a robber to file a law suit, if he or she got hurt in your house.
9) Under state law, dentists are officially classified as mechanics.
10) Any person over the age of 12 may have a license for a handgun as long as he/she has not been convicted of a felony.
11) In Detroit, couples are banned from making love in an automobile unless the act takes place while the vehicle is parked on the couple's own property.
12) In Sturgis, Roosters may crow, only if it is done at least 300 feet from the airport.
13) In Clawson, there is a law that makes it LEGAL for a farmer to sleep with his animals.
14) In Kalamazoo, it is against the law to serenade your girlfriend.
15) In Rochester, all bathing suits must have been inspected by the head of police.
16) In Soo, smoking while in bed is illegal.
17) In Wayland, anyone can keep their cow on Main Street downtown at a cost of 3 cents per day.
18) In Detroit, it is illegal to ogle a woman from a moving car.
19) In Port Huron, the speed limit for ambulances is 20 mph.
